Accessibility Statement

Last updated: November 1, 2025

At DishesMadeEasy.com, we want everyone to enjoy our recipes and content. We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Our commitment

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user friendly for everyone.

What weโ€™re doing

  • Structure & semantics: Using clear headings, lists, landmarks, and proper HTML to aid navigation with screen readers.
  • Text alternatives: Providing meaningful alt text for informative images and avoiding text embedded within images where possible.
  • Color & contrast: Targeting sufficient contrast ratios and avoiding color-only cues to convey meaning.
  • Keyboard access: Aiming for full access to menus, forms, and interactive elements using a keyboard alone.
  • Focus visibility: Ensuring a visible focus indicator when tabbing through content.
  • Forms & labels: Associating labels with inputs and providing clear, descriptive error messages.
  • Responsive design: Optimizing layouts so content reflows on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Media considerations: Keeping motion/animation subtle and non-blocking; avoiding autoplay audio or video in article content.
  • Continuous improvement: Reviewing new templates and features with accessibility in mind and addressing issues we find.

Known limitations (and how weโ€™re addressing them)

While we strive for full compliance, some areas may still present challenges:

  • Legacy posts and images: Older articles may have missing or imperfect alt text or heading structure. We are auditing and updating these posts on a rolling basis.
  • Third-party content and widgets: Embedded players, ad units, social widgets, or forms provided by third parties may not fully meet WCAG criteria. We work with partners to improve accessibility and seek accessible alternatives where feasible.
  • User-generated content: Comments and submitted media can vary in accessibility. We moderate for clarity but cannot guarantee full conformance of user content.

If you encounter an accessibility issue, please let us know so we can fix it.

Feedback & contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience difficulty with any part of the site, need content in an alternative format, or have suggestions for improvement, contact us via our form: https://dishesmadeeasy.com/contact-us/

To help us resolve the issue quickly, please include:

  • The URL of the page where you had trouble.
  • A brief description of the problem.
  • Your browser, device, and any assistive technology you use.

Assessment approach

We use a combination of:

  • Manual checks with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader spot-tests.
  • Automated tests to flag common issues (contrast, labels, landmarks).
  • Periodic content audits when new templates or components are introduced.

Standards & compatibility

We aim to support current versions of major browsers and operating systems. While we test with common assistive technologies, experiences can vary. If something doesnโ€™t work as expected in your setup, please tell us using our contact form.

Enforcement & escalation

If you contact us about an accessibility concern, we will acknowledge your message and work to resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe. When a fix requires a third party (e.g., an embed provider), we will coordinate with them or seek an accessible alternative where possible.

We appreciate your help in making DishesMadeEasy.com easier for everyone to use.
